Nikon D5 Captured F1 Crash in Amazing Details.
While covering the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, Daniel Kalisz, an Australian photographer who was part of Nikon team, picked turn 3/4 on the track: a great choice for what was about to unfold. Down on the straight in the 17th lap, when trying to pass on the outside, Fernando Alonso clipped the rear of Esteban Gutiérrez’s Haas at full speed and within seconds, it was mayhem.
Daniel Kalisz was using a Nikon D5 camera along with AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f/4E FL ED VR and an AF-S Teleconverter TC-14E III. The camera perfectly captured the after math within few mili seconds after the crash of Fernando Alonso (ESP) in McLaren MP4-31. Here are the photographs that he and his Nikon D5 managed to capture in great detail.
Daniel focused on car and despite of the car coming towards him the camera was able to focus on it consistently.
