Canon 5D Mark IV Revealed – Features & Specifications.
It has been quite some time since the Canon’s 5D lineup has seen an upgrade. With official announcement yet to come, the features and specifications has been revealed by Japanese website digicame-info . According to the available info the position of the logo has been changed. Although it looks very similar on the outside, what matters is the new specification and features.
The new 5D Mark IV will sport a 30.4MP sensor, Dual Pixel AF, 61 point AF sensor with 41 cross-type, a 150,000-pixel RGB + IR sensor. It will be able to perform 7 frames per second continuous shooting. The extended ISO range from 100 to 102400, touchscreen LCD, dust and weather sealing, built-in WiFi, built-in GPS, NFC capability, 4K at 30fps, USB 3.0 and HDMI inputs, and a timelapse movie mode are the other main features.
Another much talked about feature is Dual Pixel RAW. The camera will be able to record one normal RAW file as well as a Dual Pixel RAW file. You can then use Canon’s Digital Photo Professional and have access to three new post processing techniques listed below:
- Image Micro-adjustment: by using the depth information, fine adjustment enables the position of the maximum sharpness and resolution.
- Bokeh Shift: to change the position of the previous blur (original: re-positions the viewpoint of foreground bokeh for a more pleasing result).
- Ghosting Reduction: reduces the ghost and flare.
It will use LP-E6N / LP-E6 battery and will give 900 shots at full charge. As for the dimensions it will be 116.4mm X 150.7mm X 75.9mm and will weigh 890g for body only. The new Canon 5D Mark IV looks promising but we need to wait for it’s actual performance in the field. Canon’s 5D Mark III is already a very successful camera and professionals love it for it’s all-round abilities when coupled with the right lenses. We are expecting to see a price drop on Canon 5D Mark III as soon as the 5D Mark IV is announced. The price of 5D Mark IV is to be announced and we will update as soon as it is official.
